Imagine tapping a smart card against a glowing display to trigger a high-tech science challenge or stepping into virtual worlds right alongside your classmates. That dream has now become reality because the Central Board of Secondary Education has opened the new CBSE Experience Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi. On October 30, 2026, CBSE issued an official circular inviting affiliated schools to plan field trips to this lively interactive space.

Online bookings officially started on November 1, 2026, through the Pariksha Sangam portal on the board’s website (cbse.gov.in). From November 3 to November 30, 2026, pupils from CBSE-affiliated schools get an exclusive first chance to explore the facility. Each visiting session can welcome up to 60 visitors, which includes participating students and their accompanying teachers.

What happened?

CBSE set up this modern hub at its Integrated Office Complex located in Sector 23, Phase I, Dwarka. The centre covers 6,000 square feet and features 21 exhibits divided across 12 themed zones. School principals and coordinators can sign in using their school affiliation code and OASIS password to pick a convenient slot for their classes.

When you arrive, you do not just look at items behind glass. Instead, visitors receive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-enabled smart cards. By tapping your card at different exhibits, you can complete challenges, interact directly with models, and watch your achievements climb on interactive leaderboards.

One of the central attractions is a film titled Shiksha Ki Kahani. In the movie, the voice of the Saraswati river tells the story of Indian schooling across centuries. You get to travel back in time to ancient gurukuls, visit the historic classrooms of Nalanda, and journey forward to present-day digital learning.

History fans can also head to a dedicated history corner filled with archival records and historical photographs of CBSE stretching back to 1935. Meanwhile, science fans can dive into immersive simulations, explore a geological timeline of Earth, try hands-on demonstrations of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR), and check out interactive zones dedicated to future careers.

Why does it matter to you?

Sometimes, reading about science or history in a heavy textbook can feel difficult or repetitive. This experience centre offers a fresh way to understand the world by letting you touch, play, and test real ideas yourself.

Instead of simply memorising facts for an exam, you can wear virtual reality headsets, solve digital puzzles, and discover amazing inventions together with your friends. It transforms regular school lessons into an exciting adventure and helps you discover futuristic careers you might want to pursue one day.

Words to know

  • RFID: Radio Frequency Identification, a wireless system that uses tiny radio signals on a card to share information with a scanner.
  • Simulation: A computer programme or working model that imitates how something happens in real life.
  • Virtual Reality (VR): A computer-generated world that makes you feel like you are standing inside it when wearing special goggles.
  • Archival: Historical documents, records, or photographs that have been carefully saved to remember the past.

Did you know?

Did you know that CBSE’s history stretches back to 1935? In the history corner at the centre, you can actually see real vintage photographs and genuine historical records from those early school days.

Think about it

If you could design your own interactive exhibit for your class, what exciting topic would you teach? Would you prefer trying out the virtual reality zone or watching the film about ancient gurukuls and Nalanda first?
