Ballarpur, 13 December: Crescent Public School, Ballarpur and Creative Minds Pre-School jointly organised a heritage-based educational programme titled “Suprabhat Heritage Milan” on 13 December at the historic Ballarpur Fort. The programme was designed to introduce students to the rich historical legacy of their hometown and to nurture respect for history, culture, and national pride through experiential learning.
The event was conducted in the serene morning atmosphere of the fort and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 1 to 10, their parents, teachers, and school management. The active involvement of parents made the programme especially meaningful and transformed it into a shared learning experience for families.
The programme was guided and graced by Shri Bandu Dhotre, President of Eco Pro, Chandrapur, and National Youth Awardee (Government of India), who was present as the chief guest and keynote guide. His presence added dignity and inspiration to the event. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of Shri Ghanshyam Moolchandani, Shri Vasant Khedkar, Smt. Chaitali Moolchandani, and Smt. Rajni Moolchandani.
In his inspiring address, Shri Bandu Dhotre explained the historical importance of Ballarpur Fort in a simple, engaging, and student-friendly manner. He emphasised that the fort is not merely a stone structure but a living symbol of the region’s political, cultural, and administrative heritage. He highlighted its association with the Gond rulers and its relevance during different historical phases, including Maratha history.
During his speech, Shri Bandu Dhotre also narrated the brief history of Ballarshah, explaining that the town derives its name from King Khandkya Ballal Shah, a prominent Gond ruler. He described how the region evolved from Ballarshah to Chandrapur and how Ballarpur, Ballarshah, and Chandrapur are historically interconnected. This narration helped students understand the historical development of the region and strengthened their connection with local history.
Shri Dhotre further explained that Ballarpur Fort once served as a key centre of administration and security, around which the town gradually developed. He stressed that understanding history helps students better understand the present and build a stronger future. His interactive style and use of real-life examples generated curiosity, awareness, and pride among students regarding their heritage.
A special and heartwarming highlight of the programme was the Fort Sketching Activity, in which parents actively participated along with their children. Parents were seen drawing sketches of Ballarpur Fort, creating a unique atmosphere of shared creativity and learning. This activity beautifully conveyed the message that learning has no age limit and that when parents learn alongside their children, it deepens family bonding and enriches the educational experience.
The entire planning, coordination, and successful execution of the programme were carried out under the able guidance of Mrs. Humaira Khan, whose leadership ensured smooth organisation of every aspect of the event. From conceptualising the programme to managing student participation, discipline, time management, and guest coordination, her vision and dedication played a key role in making the programme impactful and memorable.
