A new educational robot named “EmotiBot” is changing the way kids learn to code — by reading their emotions!
Unveiled this week at the Global EdTech Conference in London, EmotiBot is designed for children aged 6 to 12 and uses facial recognition and tone analysis to adjust lessons based on a child’s mood, frustration, or excitement.
???? How It Works:
The robot uses a small camera and microphone to:
-
Detect when a child is confused or bored
-
Change teaching styles (more visual, slower pace, etc.)
-
Encourage kids when they feel stuck
Developers say it helps children learn faster and stay motivated — especially those who struggle with traditional methods.
???? A Teacher in Every Room?
Lead designer Sarah Wu explained:
“We wanted to create a robot that isn’t just smart — but also emotionally supportive. Kids learn best when they feel understood.”
EmotiBot comes with drag-and-drop coding lessons, games, and even storytelling modes for creative learning.
????️ Coming Soon to Classrooms
The robot is being piloted in over 50 schools across the UK, and will be available globally by December 2025.
